The Glasgow City Region Local Innovation Partnerships Fund (LIPF)
Glasgow City Region ('GCR') has been allocated £50m through the UKRI-led Local Innovation Partnerships Fund (LIPF) — a £500m national programme (2026-2031) designed to boost regional innovation capacity through place-based investment and drive economic growth.
We are now launching a £25m call for projects for the Health & Life Sciences cluster. The programme is targeted at turning research from the laboratory into real-world use and accelerate the commercialisation of R&D across the Region.
What we are looking for
- Translate research into practical use (such as product development, prototyping, tech transfer, patents)

Focus on:
- Health & Life Sciences (MedTech, BioTech, Pharma)
- and Digital Enabling Technologies supporting Health & Life Sciences
- Demonstrate 2:1 private sector leverage as a minimum
- Create long-term sustainability and potential for follow-on investment
- Build collaboration across the GCR innovation ecosystem
